At the joint CUTA-UITP International Security Conference held in Montreal in conjunction with the Fall Conference, CUTA Chair Charles Stolte, UITP Secretary General Hans Rat and CUTA President & CEO Michael Roschlau signed a declaration on the importance of conducting security risk assessments in public transit systems. 

Signed in the presence of some 130 delegates from 20 countries in North America, Europe, Asia and the Middle East, the declaration encouraged CUTA and UITP members to put security matters at the centre of their operations and manage security risks in a methodical and transparent manner.

Together, CUTA and UITP will continue to support each other and strengthen their partnership in this area of transit security.
